Our flight dispatcher training programs provide the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in this field. Our practical training provides basic and advanced skills for new and experienced dispatchers.

Flight Dispatcher Initial Course

(FDIC-Theory and On Job Training)

This course is designed for candidates who want to pursue a career in Flight Dispatch, but do not have a background in the aviation industry.

The FDIC training program, approved by the GCAA UAE, is a competency-based training and assessment program. It complies with GCAA CAR PART II Chapter 6, and the recommendations of the Competency-based training and assessment (CBTA) manual (ICAO DOC 10106) are taken into consideration in the design of the program.

The program is designed to ensure that all participants have the required knowledge and skills to be competent flight dispatchers. The program uses a combination of classroom instruction, practical exercises, and assessments to ensure that participants are able to demonstrate their competence in all areas.

FDIC Program consists of two phases of training:

Phase 1: Theoretical Knowledge and Practical Exercise (55 working days) followed by the Oral and Practical Exam Competency Check (3 days)

Phase 2 : -GCAA approved On-Job-Training (OJT) with Skyplan Operation Control Center (90 working days)

We offer guaranteed on-the-job training commencement with Skyplan OCC center after the successful completion of phase 1.

Entry requirements:

You must be at least 21 years old

A good command of English
Understanding of basic Mathematics and Physics

Accelerated Dispatch Course (Abridged)

This training course is designed for candidates who already have experience working in the aviation industry and want to transition into a career as a Flight Dispatcher.

Experience Requirement

Flight crew(CPL or ATPL holder)
Air traffic controller (ATC)
or as an unlicensed flight dispatcher or an assistant dispatcher engaged in air transport

Skyplan Aviation Academy will evaluate the experience gained as per (CARS II CH.6) FD.030 (b)(1) to (b)(2) and subject to GCAA approval, may qualify for a reduction of knowledge instructions.

If approved, the applicant may be admitted to an abridged course followed by the examinations and OJT.

This program also uses a combination of classroom instruction, practical exercises, and assessments to ensure that participants are able to demonstrate their competence in all areas.

The Abridged program consists of two phases:

Phase 1: theoretical knowledge and practical exercise (30 days), followed by the oral and practical exam competency check (3 days).

Phase 2: GCAA approved on-job-training (OJT) with Skyplan Operation Control Center (90 days).

We offer guaranteed on-the-job training commencement after successful completion of phase 1.

You must be at least 21 years old

Proof of experience in the aviation industry

Recurrent Training

Dispatcher recurrent training is designed to provide dispatchers with refreshed knowledge on a wide range of subjects, with a focus on improving skills. This will help improve operational safety and efficiency. Recurrent training is tailored for airline, corporate and military operational needs and regulations. During refresher training on each subject, team discussions will be held to explore ways each dispatcher can consider how to improve operations using industry best practices and procedures.

A dispatch license-holder approved by the GCAA should attend recurrent training followed by an examination. A license-holder should undergo recurrent training every 12 months in order to maintain their competencies in accordance with GCAA rules. The recurrent training records shall be maintained by the operator for at least three years.

Entry requirements:

Applicant should hold a GCAA Flight Dispatcher License
Applicant with an expired GCAA Flight Dispatch License and are not dispatching the flights since the expiry of their license , will undergo a competency check by our GCAA approved examiner

Holders of a valid Foreign Dispatch License/certificate from an ICAO contracting state may contact DUBAICAMPUS@SKYPLANACADEMY.COM for their assessment.
